Marla Cone

In 2005 Marla Cone, journalist and environmental expert, released her book Silent Snow. In this she describes the slow poisoning of the pole areas. This book has inspired us and many others to raise awareness for this problem.

Cradle to Cradle

'Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things' is a book by German chemist Michael Braungart and architect William McDonough. It is a manifesto calling for the transformation of human industry through ecologically intelligent design. McDonough and Braungart argue that an industrial system which "takes, makes and wastes" can transform into a creator of goods and services that generate ecological, social and economic value.

International Polar Year

The International Polar Year is a large scientific programme focused on the Arctic and the Antarctic from March 2007 to March 2009.

Slow Food Movement

Slow Food is a non-profit, eco-gastronomic member-supported organization to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world. Greenpeace

Greenpeace takes on an important role in fighting Persistant Organic Pollutants. Within their Toxic Campaign they currently pressure leading manufacturers of electronics such as Apple and Nokia to produce products that are greener, last longer and do not contain hazardous chemicals.
